A 501(c)(3) nonprofit improving family life, knowledge, and understanding across the Inland Empire since 1997.
SOS Youth and Family, Inc. was founded in 1997 as a nonprofit dedicated to family wellness for at-risk and disadvantaged children and economically challenged families. Through education, performing arts, recreation, and - over time - licensed clinical services, SOS has partnered with school districts, colleges, faith-based organizations, and family service agencies across the Inland Empire and beyond.
Today, our clinical team blends licensed therapists with supervised associates and trainees to deliver trauma-informed, court-recognized programs for individuals, couples, and families - including services supporting Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties CalAIM Enhanced Care Management programs for justice-involved youth and adults.

Meet Ms. Angie
A Black woman entrepreneur and lifelong advocate, Angela Beal — known throughout the community as "Miss Angie" — founded SOS Youth and Family, Inc. in 1997 with a simple conviction: that every child, adult, and family deserves safety, dignity, and a place to belong. A registered nurse licensed in California, Miss Angie brings deep expertise in Medicaid and Medicare systems along with CA CDSS and Community Care Licensing regulations to her work — knowledge that shapes SOS into an agency families can trust to navigate complex systems on their behalf. Under her leadership, SOS has grown into a trusted 501(c)(3) serving families across the Inland Empire and Santa Barbara County.
Mother, grandmother, pastor, community leader, entrepreneur — Miss Angie wears many hats, and she brings the heart of each one to her work. That range of experience, paired with a steady, forward-looking vision, continues to guide our team of licensed clinicians, associates, and trainees — delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed care rooted in the communities we call home.

Who We Serve
SOS Youth and Family welcomes and serves individuals and families of every culture, nationality, and ethnicity. Alongside that open door, we have built particular depth in culturally responsive care for Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color. That focus strengthens how well we care for everyone who walks through our doors.

Expanding to the Central Coast
Building on more than 25 years of service, SOS is bringing its work to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Launching soon, our programs there will operate under the name Chesed Youth and Family Services, extending the same commitment to safety, dignity, and belonging to families across the region.
