SOS Youth and Family trains the next generation of therapists. Whether you're a graduate student searching for a practicum site or a registered associate working toward licensure, we offer real clinical experience with dedicated supervision.

GRAD STUDENTS

Practicum & Traineeship

  • Placement for MFT, ASW, and PCC trainees in an approved practicum site

  • Weekly individual and group supervision with licensed clinicians

  • Direct client hours across therapy, DV intervention, and parenting programs

  • Training in TF-CBT and other evidence-based modalities such as Trust-Based Relational Intervention

  • Exposure to court-involved, case management, and telehealth work

ASSOCIATES

Clinical Hours Toward Licensure

  • Supervised hours for AMFT, ASW, and APCC associates, tracked toward BBS licensure requirements
  • Flexible in-person and telehealth caseloads
  • Mentorship from experienced, licensed supervisors
  • Diverse, meaningful caseload: trauma, family conflict, and DV intervention
  • Support with hour logging, documentation, and case consultation

Paperwork, site orientation, and supervisor assignment.

Start seeing clients under weekly supervision once onboarding is complete.

Before you apply

Is this a paid or unpaid position?

Compensation details vary by role and funding. Graduate Student practicums are non-paid. BBS Associates are paid positions based on number of clients assigned.

How many hours per week are expected?

Weekly hour expectations differ by practicum requirements for graduate students. Associates are expected to conduct an average of 10-12 service hours per week.

Do you accept telehealth-only trainees?

Yes, but graduate students and associates must reside in CA or FL presently.

What license types do you supervise toward?

SOS supervises AMFT, ASW, APCC, and MFT/ASW/PCC trainees/grad students, aligned with California BBS requirements.

Is there an application deadline or rolling admission?

Admission is typically rolling, but start dates may cluster around academic terms. Check in with us!
